VANCOUVER WHALE WATCH VIEW
Take half a day to enjoy a beautiful marina and meet the resident whales or sea lions. This tour allows you to get out and see some of the interesting areas south of the city. A 45-minute ride to the marina will give you that opportunity. Once you arrive, you will find some professionals expert in the fields of science and research who will take you out on the water. The vessels they use are semi-covered and take a maximum of 35 people, so you will be able to enjoy your experience in a smaller venue.

This company uses the best equipment for this three to five hour trip. The length depends on sightings, as they always want to make this a success for their passengers. They will literally go the extra mile to find those critters for you.

The most exciting part is finding the pod of resident whales who are usually spotted feeding on salmon in the Fraser River system. You should also be successful in spotting some bow-riding Dall's porpoises, sea lions bald eagles, seals and more.

In the early spring your focus will be on Sea Lions, seals, eagles, cormorants, herons and other wildlife.

They will not be providing any refreshments so, you may want to bring snacks or lunch with you.

GROUSE MOUNTAIN AND CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE TOUR
The North Shore has much to see. We'll take you to two of the most interesting sights. We'll start the tour at your hotel and then drive through Stanley Park and over the Lions Gate Bridge enroute to the British Properties, which is a neighborhood of wonderful homes and gardens.

Our first stop will be the Capilano Salmon Hatchery: This is a beautiful river forest setting where you'll be able to watch salmon as they return up-river to spawn. Sometimes there will be a bear fishing the river a few feet from your observation point.

Ready for something really spectacular? Our next stop is the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge which spans a magnificent canyon.
There we'll stop to visit traditional native totem pole carvers and their large display of poles and crafts. Take a few minutes to walk through and admire the impressive living forest exhibit.

Let's go up to Grouse Mountain and take a ride on the lofty skyride to this 3700 ft. high mountaintop playground. You'll have ample time to grab something to eat... or to visit the logging show (admission is not included). You may see a Grizzly bear in this mountaintop refuge.

Our day is not over yet because after we drive through the charming residential Edgemont Village, we'll make a stop at the Lonsdale Quay where you can browse through the Public Market and shops.

We'll hop on the SeaBus (passenger ferry) to experience the beauty of Vancouver's harbour. This 15-minute crossing will bring you back to downtown. Your bus will be waiting to return you to your hotel or you can choose to stay and visit Gastown, after which you'll need to make an independent return home.

VANCOUVER COASTAL RAINFOREST ADVENTURE.........
This award-winning tour shows off the 'skyscrapers of mother nature'. Your tour, fortunately, begins with a brief introduction to Vancouver's downtown business district, along with a ride down Robson Street, the area designated as a shopping extravaganza. You will even see the impressive residential area, loaded with restaurants and interesting architecture, before you head out to Capilano Canyon.

Actually nothing will matter once you enter this impressive rainforest with unbelievable views of the canyon below. These guides are heavy on knowledge and personality and will entertain you with their energy. The information on the survival of the fittest fascinated us and you will be astounded at the significance of some of these species in the medical field. For instance, the YEW tree, known for Taxol and Tamoxifin, will make you feel instantly young as you stand next to the oldest known to exist in British Columbia.

You are also going to venture into Lynn Canyon, an idyllic setting that provides easy hiking for city escapists. Unlike the more famous Capilano Bridge, the suspension bridge here is not crowded and hangs 50 meters above the canyon. Make certain someone takes your photo participating in that - you will only want to do it once!

Last but not least, you will visit the Capilano Fish Hatchery. Whether in season or not, this exhibit, set in the wilds of the canyon, is the perfect way to understand how nature works it's magic.

FISHING CHARTER IN VANCOUVER'S PROTECTED WATERS
Did I know that this was a year-round King Salmon fishing capital of the world? You will be in a terrific location when you board your boat - and the boat itself is brand-new and fully equipped with the latest equipment and technology.

And the captain of the boat is young, enthusiastic, and helpful. He wants you to experience the best fishing in British Columbia and will give you all the tools and equipment necessary to do so. They feature Salmon Slayer Specialty Rigs that are "Guide-Tied" with care and knowledge, increasing your success when in pursuit of Pacific Salmon. Many visitors take these special rigs back to use in their local waters.

This has been a solid winter-to-spring transition, as fishing has produced steady action with many winter Chinook being caught from undersized to some weighing-in at 18 to 20 lbs. Overall, the weather has been pleasant and it has been one of the mildest winters on record. They will drop a crab pot while you fish in the spring for a great treat!

Salmon fishing remains good in the Vancouver area and the short run to the fishing grounds only takes 15-20 minutes before you drop your lines! This has been a solid winter-to-spring transition, as fishing has produced steady action with many winter Chinook being caught from undersized to some weighing-in at 18 to 20 lbs. Overall, the weather has been pleasant and it has been one of the mildest winters on record. There is fair opportunity to catch a chinook in the local area and it is nice to fish this time of year as the waters are quiet and relaxing, with less traffic or more room to maneuver.

We are fishing depths of 80 to 180 feet (close to the bottom) with bait or spoons. Lately, the army truck teaser heads, spoons and hootchies have worked like a charm. We would recommend the 4.0 coyote spoons in green glow/white, green glow/silver, black/red/white “Nasty Boy” or black/white “Midnight Rider”. Successful anglers have been fishing close to the bottom and quite deep, off of the downrigger. A productive combination was an anchovy fished in a teaser heads with either a purple or green flasher. The herring bait balls are abundant in the waters so the fish are feeding on this natural attraction.

GROUP TOUR OF MOUNTAIN BIKING THROUGH STANLEY PARK - VANCOUVER.......
Stretch your legs on an easy exploration of Stanley Park with the city's happiest guide. Stanley Park is a gem established in 1889. Although I went through the park a total of 8 times in 2 days, I never really knew where I was, except that the value of this easy escape for residents and visitors alike was apparent. It is a sprawling, thickly wooded playground available to all.

You will feel comfortable with an overview of the park first by van or bus. Then you will be outfitted properly with a bicycle, helmet, and rain poncho to begin a leisurely pace through this beautiful tribute to urban planning.

There is much to see here. A rain forest like you never imagined in the Pacific Northwest is at your fingertips. Along with the massive trees, you will visit the homes of much wildlife and woodland animals. The sandy beaches will surprise you.

If this is the beginning of your trip or the end, you will get one more look at the totem poles that stand proudly in the park. A different native group than those you see north in Alaska, so it is interesting to compare carves these.

Your guide is well trained in the knowledge needed to answer your questions. He will know exactly when to stop and offer you a nice snack and drink before continuing.
